MASSIVE MIXED-USE DEV’T PROJECT TO BRING ECONOMIC BOOM IN CORDOVA TOWN
“Progress, development, and economic boom.”
This was how Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia envisioned what’s ahead for the Municipality of Cordova during the ground-filling for what is projected to be the future prime economic driver in this once sleepy town.
The Cebu Provincial Government, Cordova Municipal Government, and private proponents marked the project’s ground filling ceremony on Friday, Feb. 15, in the southernmost tip of the coastal town.
The Cordova Shores Development Corp., composed of two private building giants Premium Megastructures Inc. and Ulticon Builders, will undertake the project in joint venture agreements with the Capitol and Cordova’s local government.
“Once realized, this will translate to so much economic boom not only for Cordova but the entire Province of Cebu,” Gov. Garcia said in her speech.
This reclamation project is located near the foot of the third bridge, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway. Both structures will complement each other and are game-changers as far as the town’s economy is concerned.
The project will be constructed in phases.
Site 1, with 204 hectares, is envisioned to be a mixed-use commercial, business, and commercial area; while Site 2, with 50 hectares and adjacent to a municipal Ro-Ro access, is envisioned to be a mixed-use business, residential, and recreational area, and a potential cruise ship dock site.
Cordova Shores was granted the original proponent status after it submitted an unsolicited proposal for the project.
The unsolicited proposal was subjected to a Swiss challenge to invite other companies to match or better it. With no challengers, the project was awarded to Cordova Shores. (from #SugboNews2022)

Premium Megastructures Inc. (PMI) is proud to be a part of the Cordova Reclamation and Development Project, which officially broke ground on February 18, 2022, at the Roro Port in Barangay Poblacion. The groundbreaking ceremony was led by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Cordova Mayor Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho, along with our company executives and those of Ulticon Builders Inc. (UBI).
The project, which aims to increase the land area of Cordova by reclaiming the shallow portions of the sea, will result in an additional 254 hectares of land for the region. We expect to finish the reclamation process within the next year or two, after which we will begin developing the newly formed space.
The project will be into two parts. The first 204 hectares are in the southern portion of Mactan Island and the Cebu Strait, traveling through Catarman and Guanzon communities. The remainder of the reclamation will extend from Roro Port, providing ample space for future development.
